"I wouldn't want to cause further paranoia, but that might not be impossible," John says, thinking of the newspaper he's carrying, the article that reports his death. People have told him it's possible for there to be others who look exactly like him, but have a different name, a different history. That had been unsettling enough, but to them realize there might be other versions of him that exist in other worlds, men who haven't survived the war or who haven't survived his time on the streets or, perhaps, men who haven't survived Samaritan, well... that's something else entirely.
