He knows people here are cautious about what they say, he knows there are those who aren't exactly friendly about those they look upon as outsiders, but he had made a decision to challenge that in whatever subtle way he can. He isn't going to pretend to be from Darrow, not for anyone's comfort, and he appreciates that Eden approaches the topic without much hesitation.

"I even have a friend from home," he admits. "But I've always been a bit... introverted, I suppose."
