"No, I don't think they do," Eden agrees softly. She's had her chances — her best friends, her love, the few people who made her feel like she finally had a home before they were taken from her again. Everything gets taken eventually. The only thing to do is to love hard and fierce while it lasts.

She laughs and shakes her head. "Philosophical before we've even ordered our coffee," she says. "Look at us, fast friends already."
