It means so much, just that she's here with him, and for what feels like the first time in days, John's shoulders begin to relax. He shifts on the couch, sitting back, letting out a long, weary breath and he knows the best course of action for him at this point is to just let himself rest. He hadn't found Finch and he isn't going to find Finch by running himself into the ground and allowing himself rest and comfort isn't going to bring the world to an end.

"Thank you," he says, taking Karen's hand and squeezing gently. "If it's alright... can I stay here tonight?"

Before Karen it's been a long time since he's slept in the same bed with anyone and he's gotten used to his space, but right now he can't imagine going home alone to his bed. Bear would be there, but it's not the same, of course.
