"The Machine?" Dutch asks, brow furrowing the slightest bit. It sounds a bit like what Lucy is, if she's honest but Lucy would have hated her if she'd given her a name like 'Machine.' But, Lucy's also just a ship and her artificial intelligence had just been about keeping her afloat and keeping everyone inside alive.

"How could it do that?" Dutch asks, still frowning. "People have free will and the freedom of choice. How would a machine predict what the most unpredictable of species can do?"
