"I'm sorry," John says, wishing that wasn't the case. The Purge should never have happened at all, he doesn't understand what kind of city allows people to hurt others just on the extremely flawed assumption it would decrease crime for the next seven years. There is absolutely no logic in that, nothing that supports their claims, and John had said as much, as loudly as he could and still nothing had changed.

He had helped on Halloween, but he hadn't helped enough. Not if Dutch had lost someone.
