Even now, it occurs to Karen that she probably ought to be worried. She certainly isn't going to take any of this too lightly. While she is concerned about John, though, and that hit he took to the back of the neck, she doesn't have any doubts about their ability to get out of this in one piece. She's been in situations far more frightening than this, anyway, when she couldn't move as quickly or as easily as she does now, almost without thinking about it. Taking a couple of steps forward to meet the man who's come running out of the back room, she grabs his wrist to twist his arm up behind his back, the movement sudden enough that he lets out a shout and drop the weapon, which she then kicks over towards John.
"Like he said," she says, dropping her voice slightly. "Bad idea."
