"I'm sorry," John says as they move down the street. He feels bad for the kid and for his dog, but it had been the best decision in a split second moment. With two men coming after them, it had been more important to keep him safe than anything else.
"I needed to put them down quickly," he says. "And it was the easiest thing to do. I'm not in a state to fight them."
