John almost defends the choice he's made, almost tries to explain to Karen that Brady would have shot her, but in the end he doesn't. All along, from the moment he had arrived in Darrow, Karen had trusted him, and he trusts her now. Trusts her to understand his choices, why he'd shot for centre mass instead of the kneecap.
