John doesn't feel bad either. He would have done far worse to that man if Karen hadn't been there, would have made him experience every ounce of pain he had ever put his wife through and while he's not proud of that side of him, he's also not sorry it exists. That man has to be there. That man has been a big part of why he's survived this long.
